How to factory reset your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch?

1. Back up your device
Ensure that you back up your device to restore your data later.

2. Erase your device

  • Open Settings, then tap General > Transfer or Reset iPhone.  
  • Tap Reset > Erase All Content and Settings > Continue. You may need to enter your passcode or Apple ID password to confirm your decision.  
  • Follow the prompts, then select "Erase All Content and Settings.

3. Enter your passcode or Apple Account password if prompted
If you've forgotten your passcode or Apple Account password, follow the instructions to reset it.

4. Confirm the device erasure
If you have an eSIM, you can choose to erase it or keep it. Erasing the eSIM means you'll need to contact your network provider to reactivate your mobile plan.

 

5. Wait for the device to erase
The process may take a few minutes to fully erase your data.
